Hi, I have a Polycom HDX 9004 system with 2 Polycom EE cameras already connected to input 1 & 2.  I need to connect another EE camera to input 4 or 5 (DVI), however im not sure on what type of cabling I need, the EE has the standard HDCI connector and the HDX system has DVI-I connector.

I could get the HDCI breakout cable (2457-23521-001) to connect to the EE camera and run the 5 BNC cable and serial cable back to the HDX but how/what adpater cable would I need to connect the 5 BNC to the DVI-I connector for Input 4 or 5?

Thanks

You are right, you have to use 3 wires from 5 and no converter. Please keep in mind that for the correct camera detection you need to have also the RS-232 connected and configured as described in HDX Admin's Guide

AFAIK it's impossible to have a direct connection of EE camera to inputs 4 and 5 as EE does not provide the H-Sinc and V-Sinc signals needed in VGA/DVI formats. So the right way to have the third EE camera is to connect it to the Input 3 (3 BNC, YPbPr ). If it is mandatory to use DVI input you need to install the appropriate converter by Kramer, Extron, etc.

Thanks for your reply.  So if using Input 3, would I just use the same wire (5 RGBHV) and just connect the 3 wires from it (RGB) directly to Input 3 or would I need some kind of format converter too?

Thanks
