Hi everyone,

We have Group 500 with software version 6.1.0-310348 installed.

When sending content from our room, our content looks very good on our screen, however, when receiving content from another site, their content looks poor. It looks like a camera shot taken of the content and I was wondering if you had any suggestions?

I'm not sure if we're missing a proper codec setting? It looks the same from all far sites, not just a particular room.

Any insight you might have is appreciated!

Thank you,

Ken K

What is the mfr, model and software version of the far end? It could be the bandwidth of the content channel is restricting the quality.  Also, is QOS coming into play where the content may be marked with a lower value and is being throttled affecting quality?

The endpoints are Polycom HDX 8000 units with version 3.1.11 and Touch Control software version 1.17. The incoming content from them looks good in our other rooms, it seems to be just the Group 500 room that has lower quality content receiving issues.

In your GS Admin Settings->Network->IP Network->Network Quality, what are your settings for Automatically Adjust People/Content Bandwidth and Quality Preference (if Auto off), Type of Service, MTU Size (could be too large), Maximum Receive Bandwidth...Is QOS being used in the routers/switches of the network connections?  Sounds like there may be packet loss in the content channel delivery.

Thank you for your response. 99% of our calls are bridged so I will check with the Bridge team and try to find out some of these answers.

Much appreciated!

Ken
