Hello,

I have a VC setup with HDX 8000 + IP 7000 + EagleEye Director. However IP 7000 will only work if I connect it directly to the network, it will pick up its configuration and be ready to dial out. When I connect the same IP 7000 to HDX 8000 using the walta cable, it does not work. IP 7000 boots up but it does not show anything. Could you please advise which of the following scenarios will work?

1. Should I assign SIP extension to the HDX codec instead of IP 7000? (Will that help)

2. I have Cisco ATA 187 Adapter, should I use that and connect to the POTS port of the codec instead of SIP?

3. I would like to integrate IP 7000 with HDX 8000 and assign a phone extension to both IP 7000 and HDX 8000? Will that work better?

Please advise, I have booked the room and will be running some tests later on.

Thanks

Hello Ken_IT,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The most important part for the SSIP7000 to work with any HDX codec is to run the correct software on the SSIP7000. The HDX software release notes show the required software Version.

The VoIP FAQ explains how to upgrade the SSIP and much more.

The documents => here <= and => here <= should also provide enough details.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
