Hi guys,

 

My GS500 requires to obtain dynamic IP only and it can get it as it should. However, whenever the unit rebooted, it will grab the previous static IP we used to use which I'm not too sure where it came from. Check in the DHCP pool, this static IP not even in network range. Any idea on how to remove this static IP and just let the unit obtain IP dynamically?

 

Any input is highly appreciated.

Welcome to the HP community.

 

Unfortunately, Your post does not contain the currently used Software version for the HP Poly product or the Partner application you are using.

 

This is important especially in the future when someone finds this post in days, months, or years to come.

 

For Poly IP phones please provide if this is PVOS, UC Software, or ObiEdition. For current Video products please include the Provider used.

 

I would suggest you do a packet capture and see if the device is using a DHCP Discover and if the DHCP server answers with a DHCP ACK with a new DHCP IP from a pool or provides a static reserved IP.
