Hello,

I was hoping that someone could provide some guidance here.

We have several Polycom HDX 7000 systems and would like to use them with Microsoft Lync. We will have both Lync Online and an on-premisis Lync Server. From the research I’ve done, it does not appear that Lync O365 supports third party video conference systems. However, since we have the on premises Lync infrastructure,  once we connect the HDX to this server will the Lync O365 users be able to communicate with the HDX as the on premises users?

Any insights you can provide would be great!

thanks

Attilio

Yes, that is the supported approach as currently only the CX5000 and CX7000 are supported with Lync Online.  You'll need to register the HDXs to your on-premises Lync Server which uses a different SIP domain namespace then what you have configured in Lync Online and then you can place federated video calls between the environments.  Note that these video calls are currently limited to VGA resolution as HD peer video calling is not available to Lync Online users today.
