We are having issues with RPD at our Michigan campus.  When calls are placed from there to any other end point, the call disconnects at almost 1 min. exactly.  same if they call desktop or HDX units.  Calls placed from any other location to them do not connect.  Calls placed from any other location to anywhere else are fine, software and codec based.  Anyone else have this issue or thoughts as to how to fix it?

    Answer: Please check the relevant release notes or admin guide for your device under the section “Inbound and Outbound Ports” or "Port usage" => here <=.

    In addition check this FAQ post => here <= for more details and troubleshooting suggestions.

The above last post shows how to troubleshoot these kind of issues using wireshark.

Sorry to dovetail on this issue, but I do not see a "New Message" link. We have RealPresence Desktop 3.4.1 loaded on a few computers and he has been working pretty well. Yesterday we tried it for the first time on a laptop with Windows 10. It will connect to a distant site. The far-end picture never shows. The timing counter starts counting up. At 10 seconds the network indicator goes from green to red. The counter continues going up, but the far-end never shows. Sometimes after a few more minutes the connection hangs up. Could this be a Windows 10 incompatibility issue? A laptop internal firewall issue? A wireless network incompatibility issue? We have not experienced anythin like this with our other installations.

Usually the quickest way to answer this is by simply checking the RPD release notes => here < as page 11 states:

 

  • Windows 7: 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 8 and 8.1 Standard, Pro, and Enterprise: 32-bit and 64-bit

Windows 10 is not a currently supported environment.

Thanks. With Windows 10 being so new, and changes to the operational system being unknown, I had hoped someone had tested this set up to see whether Windows 10 had maintained compatibility. I will ook forward to more information on this as it comes available.
