I have just download the RealPresence Desktop trail version to check that it will be suitable for our team, however, whenever I connect to another persons laptop or another PolyCom unit I get no sound back (they can hear and see me). Am I missing something simple?

Hello Mark_COOP,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

This sounds like a firewall issue either local on your PC or within the Network that you are using.

 

Please ensure to check the release notes for the Ports that need to be opened or create an exclusion for the application on your local PC and ensure that you are using a supported Operating system. Windows 8 for example is currently not supported.
