Hello community and team,
Scenario: G7500/X50 on a different Firmware version
TC8 Attached to the device, but with firmware known to be unstable for i.e Teams app etc..
Ask: Can the TC8 Firmware specifically be targeted to update via API or non Device Management method from the webgui of the X50/G7500 unit?

Hello @DanielPetrillo ,
welcome back to the HP Poly community.
usually, apart from this, the Firmware should match the device and/or it can cause problems.
+++ Unsupported Suggestion +++
Using a Custom Server and mixing a well known firmware for the videocodec and replacing the touchctrl folder with a good known TC8 software could be used to "create" a software you know works
+++ Unsupported Suggestion +++
I suggest you contact our Support organization in your region. Details are in my Signature.

***Poly Device Update and Workaround Strategy**
Dear HP Community,
I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to share some valuable insights regarding recent updates to Microsoft Teams and associated devices from my experience.
Firstly, I must extend my gratitude to Steffen for providing enlightening information. It has significantly impacted my understanding of the situation, and I regret not having this knowledge sooner to prevent my earlier post.
Upon careful review of the update instructions, it has come to my attention that there are notable discrepancies in the pairing process after updating Microsoft Teams Provider Mode with the Teams App Bundled 1449/1.0.96.2023090601. Currently, Microsoft lacks a mechanism for selectively downgrading or upgrading the Admin Agent, portal app, and Teams app for affected devices.
To address this challenge, I’ve devised a workaround for devices requiring multiple sign-ins due to the disrupted pairing process initiated by Microsoft. This involves manually downgrading the operating system to a stable version, then resetting the factory settings (Only applicable to the Codec not the TC8) to reintroduce the desired Teams App version 1449/1.0.96.2023062301 .
For example, devices such as TC8 and X50/G7500, previously operating on stable firmware, can be downgraded and reconfigured using Poly web interface, device management, Custom URL
However, it is crucial to note that physical intervention is required to reset the TC8 device fully. While this process may seem daunting, it is a necessary step toward restoring functionality.
Once the devices are reconfigured with the Poly previous firmware version bundled with app desired (4.1.0.382263) and its matching TC8 (4.1.0-211200) firmware version and the correct Teams app version is reinstated, it is advisable to establish a daily restart schedule directly inside the webgui - just to note this is only currently applicable to restarting the Poly Codec and not the Controller - this must be done separately using PS restart all method (which can be found here in the community) .
Navigating these updates can be challenging, especially in customer-facing scenarios. However, by taking proactive measures and maintaining open communication, we can ensure a smoother experience for all parties involved.
Should you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Dan
