Hi!

I have two VSX 7000A Video Conference Units

When connected over the Company IP WAN, the video rate used is exceeding the Call Speed of 768 K, leaving no bandwidth for audio, which is really badly broken up.  Video quality is fine.

Has anybody seen this before?

Are there any settings that I could adjust to prevent this?

Thanks and regards

Mr. Polycom

Make sure your VSX units are up to date with their software.

Also remember you need to allocate an additional 25% to your calculations for the overhead used by IP.  So for a 768k call you should be allocating 960k worth of bandwidth to the call.  Also any thing else using that pipe could easily cause packet loss which will cause the problem of broken up audio.  In video the bandwidth is actually allocated first to control, then audio and whatever else is left over to the video.
