Hi,

I am troubleshooting a VSX-8000. Initially, I had to replace a broken codec. I shipped a new codec out. When they got the new codec, the unit does not respond to the remote control. I had them check the pins on the camera cable, but nothing is bent or broken. I then shipped them a new camera, thinking that the IR receiver may have been bad. This did not solve the issue.

I have verified that the remote is sending IR signals, so I do not believe it is the remote. I know the easy answer would be to replace the codec again, but they are out of maintenance and we do not have any more spares in our inventory. I was kind of hoping that it could be something else. Maybe it's wishful thinking.

Thanks for your help

Could the remote control be set to a different "Code" ?   This IS an option on the HDX/GS remotes...   The default is code 3..  You might want to get into the HDX Admin Guide and look up the way to check/set the remote control "Code".  (or, if you have an older VSX remote, just try it..  It is Always set to Code 3 (universal code)...
