poly and extron

Good morning!

I had to jump here because I could not find any email address to ask for support in the whole HP|Poly website.

Because Extron decommissioned its ZRTP touch controller in favour of "well-known" thirdy party solutions, for our classrooms we were looking for a zoom-room solution to replace the original idea of a NUC (with Windows) + Extron ZRTP touch controller+two  USB professional video cameras

So upon their (Extron) suggestion we wanted to know if the TC10 or TC8 of Poly can work as standalone devices, meaning that I can attach them to a NUC (such the HP mini conferencing PC) and view the controls for our zoom room. We don't want to use any Poly camera because we are attaching via USB some external wall mounted video camera. If so, do I need other requirements for managing the TC10?

HP sells the Poly Zoom Room Base Kit HP Mini PC w/TC10 (ABU) (9J6C5AA) or a Standalone TC10 can be paired with a compatible Zoom Room as shown >Poly TC10: Pairing with Zoom Rooms - HP Support Community - 9223521<

The best advise is to contact a certified HP Poly reseller in your region.

Dear Steffer thank you for the very fast reply!

I will try to find a reliable reseller to ask specific technical questions (this is the problem I suppose)

I like this solution 9J6C5AA, about that:

- does TC requires any license for running/managing? 

- if not TC10, are there any other options from Poly suitable for our case, that can be mounted and fixed on a table?

- does this solution require a customize image of windows on the NUC or Windows+ZoomRoom software is enough?

- can we attach external PTZ video camera instead of the ones provided by Poly?

Dear Steffen,

 I inquired two resellers close to me, one is checking for the technical answers I asked for, the other one did not want reply.

Coul you tell me, about the HP| Poly kit you mentioned, if the MS Windows running on the HP mini PC is customize or standard OS version with zoomRoom/TeamsRoom installed? In case is customized, can one switch from Zoom to Teams for free?

The PC's are specifically for either Microsoft Teams or Zoom and cannot be switched.

These are specific builds and to my personal knowledge you cannot install anything else on them.
