Hi,

I have a number of vsx7000e's. They are starting to play up a bit and one of our integrators said it may be the backup battery. The only battery I can find in the documentation is the remote control battery.

Do these units have backup batteries (or cmos/mem batteries) and if so should I replace them?

Thanks

Are they loosing ALL their setup info or just date/time?

Do they have maintenance cover?

Sorry for taking so long to reply, I went on holidays 🙂

They are losing the settings when they are without power for a number of hours (reportedly it was 8+). I believe they are just beyond their 5 year maintenance period. So I will probably just open one up and have a look when I get a chance.

I would still like confirmation as to if they have a backup battery. If anyone knows?

Thanks.

I guess they probably MUST have some kind of CMOS battery.  If they are OoW & OoM then a quick look inside will probably be the cheapest option.  As for Time/Date, the older VSXs & some older HDXs suffered from loss of date/time.  The easy fix was to point them at an NTP Service.
