Disabling "Fans Always On" BIOS option stopped working after F.09 A

HP OMEN Notebook PC 15
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi,

Since updating from BIOS F.09A the "Fans Always On" option in the BIOS doesn't appear to do anything. I set it to "Disabled", and tried F.23A and F.26A but the fans never stop. The new BIOS is much quieter overall so this is a big improvement, but it would be nice for it to run silently for periods as before!

Many thanks

Tim

Confirmed. The "Fans Always On" BIOS option is defunct in the latest BIOS versions.

Our Omen is running (inter alia) 24-7 as a home server, and most of the time doing nothing other than receiving new mail.

There is really no point in making that (left) fan blow and collect dust ALL the time -- when the CPU is around 40° and all you're doing is reading mail or typing away in a Word document.

This needs to be fixed!
