Hi!, TallahasseeLass:

Welcome, to Forum !.

You needed, Reset, the calculator or, change fresh, two (2) coin batteries (CR2032), if available, (with serial numbers after CN11500001), of your calculator, when symbol (*) appear, in the display.

Warning: These resets, will erase the memory, on the calculator and restore, the calculator’s defaults. For this reason, it is important, to back up any critical data.

See, the instruction's, from ... http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bpia5202

If that doesn't make it go away, replace the battery.

Hello.  Thanks for your response.

I had already seen the instructions for resetting, but was afraid to try it since I know nothing about backing up data.  Appreciate knowing, however, that I had the right instructons.

After your response I tried the first step, which did not do anything.  I am hesitant to go to the next step because of the data thing.

I am not aware of data I need to back up, but do not want to mess up the calculator's programming??  Please advise and thanks.

Regards,

Sandra Myers

There is no data to backup. All a reset does is wipe the little bit of memory inside the calculator that has your numbers. Go through the rest, and then if that doesn't do it I'd try putting in a new battery and the problem will probably go away.

Hi!, Sandra:

Replacing the Batteries, only if, the low battery symbol (*) appears, when battery power, is nearly exhausted.

How to do, it ...

The calculator uses two, 3 Volt CR2032 Lithium batteries. The low battery symbol
(*) appears when battery power is nearly exhausted. Use only fresh batteries
when replacing the battery. Do not use rechargeable batteries. To install a new
battery:
1. With the calculator turned off, slide the back cover off.
2. Remove only one battery at a time.
3. Remove one of the old batteries and replace it with a new battery with the
positive polarity symbol facing outward.
4. Remove the other old battery and replace it with a new battery with the
positive polarity symbol facing outward.
5. Replace the back cover.

Kind Regards !.
Have a nice day !.

I need help programming an HP 15c Scientific calculator.

I tried everything and get an error 4 for my attempts.  interest rate is rcl 0; principal is rcl 1; number of months is rcl 2.

Yes, that is a negative sign before number of months.

Please help if you can. Thanks! James in Ottawa, Canada

I need the programming steps not the manual. I have the manual.
