HP OMEN 15-5020ca Keyboard Lighting Issue

HP Recommended
HP OMEN 15-5020ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

So up until recently, the multicolor backlight worked perfectly until some strange issue where, on the right side, the color stopped reproducing correctly. Well, all the colors are working fine, except a specific shade of light blue. For some reason the diodes producing this hue have stopped working and it looks lime green, whereas the rest of the keboard is just fine. Suddenly, now, the right side is a lime green.

My laptop's warranty just lapsed. Like, last month. Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks!

Hi there @NewJerZ,

Welcome back to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I understand you are having an issue withthe keyboard back light. I will be glad to help you.

As you said you are out of warrenty you have two options.

The first is to order a new Keyboard/top cover from Hp Part Surfer and select contry then enter part number.

Ref to page 14 of the Maintenance and Service Guide for the part number.

The second is just to choose a color that is working and keep using as is.

Please keep me informed of how things went.
