Product: HP Omen 17-w053dx

So for the last few months since i got this laptop i have been experiencing strange fps drops that cap at roughly 30 and then recover after a few seconds in almost all kinds of tasks. This origianlly happened only in gaming and very rarely, but now happens way more often. I origianlly thought this was the GPU overheating so i bought a coolpad, but it didn't seem to fix the problem even though the GPU stays below 60 (celsius) even when gaming. I then used HP Support Assistant to update and install any outdated/missing drivers. So I decided to log the CPU temprature during gaming and other intense tasks and discovered the CPU reaches over 70 (celcius) when playing and over 60 when doing other tasks like playing videos. So i attempted to clear the air vents incase of dust clogging but unfortunetly this hasn't seemed to have helped with the situation. I am currently trying to only use my laptop for simple tasks to prevent damage to the CPU.

 

Help would be greatly appreciated as I am out of ideas of what to do.

I understand that you are facing heating issues with your OMEN by HP Laptop PC - 17-w053dx.

This issue could occur if the BIOS is not updated or the HP CoolSense technology is not used.
