Special Character key combinations

HP Recommended
HP Omen
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

This is actually a question for a friend. It's been frustrating for the both of us, and I have yet to figure it out, and neither has she.

She recently Purchased the Omen, and both of us were amazed, and awed, and busy fiddling around with it, or at least she was, we both live rather far apart, but we game together, and recently we started playing SWTOR together, well my account is older than her, and a lot of my character names had special characters that I used ALT+(whatever number combo I needed), and thats how I created my characters. She recently started playing, and playing with me and she can't invite me into parties, or give me a special keys because of the special characters in my names.

So I tried to explain the alt+number combo, and she says it's not working. We've tried multiple things to find out how to do this, but have yet to find one. Any help would be appreciated.

LoneFox.

Remember if you do not have the extended numeric keyboard you need to use Fn and Alt.

While using the numbers in blue.
