Trackpad stopped working

HP Recommended

Hello,

Today I opened my laptop and my trackpad simply stopped working.

Firstly, I restarted my laptop as this has happened before and that has fixed it, yet this time nothing happened after the restart.

So then I decided to look through my mouse and trackpad settings to see if i had accidentally disabled it, I have not.

I then decided to uninstall and reinstall my mouse driver to see if that was what was acting up, it is not.

I am very confused as to why my trackpad has randomly stopped working and assume that this must be some hardware issue.

However, I was using my laptop last night and the trackpad worked fine, I also have not dropped it or anything like that recently that could affect the trackpad from the time between last night, when it was working, and this morning.

I am utterly stuck and have no idea how to get my trackpad working again.
