HP Smart Tank 7602 All-in-One

I have a newer HP Smart tank printer that recently started printing blank pages from my Android phone.  I've reset the printer, re downloaded the appropriate HP apps and plugins after purging their data.  I've reset the wifi connection and am not sure where else to turn/ what to try next.

My Apple phone prints normally as do my PC s.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @CalvinHJPK,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Smart Tank 7602 printer is only printing in black from your Android phone, check the printer's ink levels and ensure you're printing in color mode within the HP Smart app or the print settings of the application you're using.

1. Check Ink Levels and Ensure Color Ink is Available:

  • Verify ink levels: Low ink levels, especially in color tanks, can lead to only black printing. Check the ink levels through the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel.
  • Refill ink tanks: If any of the color tanks are low, refill them with genuine HP ink.

2. Verify Color Mode Settings:

Within the HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app and select your printer.
  • Navigate to the print settings or options.
  • Ensure the "Color" or "Print in Color" setting is enabled.

Within the Application You're Printing From:

  • Open the document or file you want to print.
  • Go to "File" > "Print" or press Command + P.
  • Look for options like "Copies & Pages" or the application's name (e.g., "Google Docs").
  • Select "Printer Features" or "Color Options" (the exact name may vary).
  • Ensure the "Color Mode" is set to "Color" and not "Monochrome" or "Grayscale".
  • Save these settings as a preset if desired.

3. Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure "Color" is selected: Look for options like "Color" or "Black & White" and make sure "Color" is chosen.
  • Disable "Print in Grayscale": If there's a "Print in Grayscale" option, ensure it's turned off.

4. Update Printer Firmware: Click Here

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
