Android to wireless printer stored working

HP Recommended
Office jet pro 8600
Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Internet printing worked until last month. nothing in the system changed that I know of. I can print from my iPad but not from my Android phone.

****I can print the reports from the HP Smart app with no issues. ****

. When I try to print from gallery or chrome or fire Fox I get a "printer error" notification from the print spooler that says "printing unsuccessful"

Have checked router, printer being on network. Having no trouble printing from our PCs or I Pad so the problem may lie in the Android. I can print from chrome with the Hammermill and Star Print apps so I think the problem is with HP...but where?

Greetings @mccrawrr

Thanks for the post.

I understand that you can print from your iOS devices and PCs, but not on your Android device, is that right?

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Are you able to scan using the HP Smart App?

Recommend you start with a power cycle.

Turn off the printer, router, and the Android device.

Wait for a minute.

Turn the router On.

Wait for a minute.

Turn the printer On.

Wait for a minute.

Turn the Android device On.

Wait for a minute.

Try to print.

If the issue persists, connect the printer any PC using a USB cable.

Visit www.hp.com/drivers and enter the model of the printer you are using.

Download and install the lasted firmware on the printer. (USB cable)

If the issue persists after the firmware update as well.

Delete the print plugin and install it back on the Android device.

Refer to this HP Article for assistance.

Keep me posted. Good Luck.
