Hi, i have a new phone, a samsung a50. on my old phone, i had the hp printer plugin and everything worked fine. new phone, same setup (plugin installed and activated in settings, smart app finds printer just fine), but now things dont work:

 

(1) apps fail to print. they abort when they pass data, just before the print setting screen would show

* google drive pdf viewer says 'document loading', then aborts.

* different app says 'printing...' then closes.

 

(2) sharing documents, choosing the plugin is a mixed bag: it shows a 'processing' popup, then enters a choose printer screen. the correct printer is shown but upon selecting it gets inconsistant:

* pdf document opens in the preview/options screen and prints

* document created in an app shows no preview in the options screen and if sent to printer produces an empty page

* third app shows an error: 'an error occured. restart the app. if it persists, ennsure current versions of the apps' (everything is up to date.

 

(3) printing through the smart app WORKS, i choose a pdf, it is displayed, the final settings screen shows and it prints

 

any ideas? i reinstalled the plugin several times now

Welcome to HP support community.

 

Check for a Smart network switch or Switch to Mobile Data (Samsung devices):

Make sure the Smart network switch option is off in the Wi-Fi settings menu.

NOTE: 

Not all Samsung devices have a Smart network switch option.

This might require one on one interaction with the support to fix the issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
