HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-in-One
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi there,

I'm having a weird behaviour with my HP OfficeJet 250 since day one. With the printer switched off, if it is not connected to the power cable the battery drains completely in just a few days. No more than 4-5 w/o any kind of usage or whatsoever.

Is this behaviour normal?

Regards

@damaes, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To conserve battery power, you can enable Auto-Off, even when the printer is connected or wireless is turned on. And any device in standby will lose charge which is normal and nothing to worry about.

Refer to the User Guide pages 18-20 to learn about battery usage.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!

Thanks for the reply @TEJ1602.

I normally print 1-2 documents a week, sometimes less than that. Auto-off is also enabled after 5 minutes, as you mention. But I normally switch off the printer as far as the printing is done. Let's say the battery percentage at that moment is 95%.

Then a few days later, when I switch on the printer, I find that the battery level is very low or there's no battery at all. I don't expect the battery to drain at that rate when the device is completely off. I'd buy a 5-10% but not a full battery in less than a week.

The device is located away from a power socket and that's the reason I bought it in the first place. I just want to be sure before the guaranty expires that the battery should not drain in that way when the printer is completely off.
