I have had my printers attached to my home wifi network for years. Suddenly they have been acting erratically.  They indicate that they are connected to the wifi, but my phones cannot find them. I run the diagnostics and reset the printers and router. At this point, my PC finds the printers and I can print to both of them over wifi but my phones cannot. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the HP Print Service Plug in on my phones but when I go to print either from another app or from the HP Smart App, I cannot get past the select printer screen because the app does not find any printers or it can find the printer but the printer is not available. Both phones are connected to the same wifi as the printers.

I am running Android 10 on Samsung Note 10+ and iOS 13.3 on iPhone 11.

Printers are HP OfficeJet 4630 and HP OfficeJet 4500.

Hi @ChuckTrott

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand you are unable to print from your phones. I'd be happy to assist you. Let us try these steps:

  • Make sure the printer and the mobile devices are connected to the same wireless network.
  • These printers supports only 2.4GHz network. So, the phones should be on the 2.4GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks

Reinstall HP Smart app on both the mobile devices.

Click here to download and know how to print using the app.

If the issue persists, restart the wireless router, printer and mobile devices and try again.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
