I want to add a second hand HP Deskjet 3520 to hp smart services for the eprint feature. I have an HP account and I have the printer claim code. When I specify the code I get the msg that the "This printer has already been claimed." The previous owner of age 95 doesn't remember he created an HP account and claimed this printer, probably the person who installed the printer did so, several years ago, and this person "disappeared". What can I do now?

Hi,

From the Web Services or HP ePrint menu on the printer, select Remove Web Services and confirm any prompt, then enable the feature again and a valid claim code will be printed.

Please make sure the latest firmware is installed for the printer, this is crucial for such an older model to maintain proper communications with the HP Cloud servers.

 

For a Windows PC, follow below link to update the latest printer firmware:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/dj3520_2023A/DJ3520_2023A.exe

Be sure to clarify your operating system version if you are not able to use above firmware update utility.
