I managed to add my printer to HP Smart using ip address (Couldn't connect to it when searching), yet:
- both my printer and my iPhone (2 of them) are on the same network, both connected, no VPN
- Cant find the printer when trying to print using Airprint
- CAN print and scan using the HP smart app
- Can print using Airprint when connecting via Wi-fi DIRECT
what's the issue here? i restarted my router with no use, i reinitialized the connection wizard and reconnected the printer (successfully) with no use as well! any help?

@QD7, Welcome to HP Support Community!
I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue. Follow the steps below-
Make sure AirPrint is enabled on the printer
Your printer has its own website for printer configuration called the Embedded Web Server (EWS). Open the EWS to check if AirPrint is enabled.
-
In the Wireless menu on the printer or on the Wireless Test Report you previously printed, find the printer IP Address.
-
Open the Safari browser on your Apple device.
-
Type the IP address in the search bar, and then tap Go to open the EWS.
-
Tap Network, tap AirPrint, and then tap Status.
-
In the Redirecting to Secure Page message, tap OK.
-
In the This Connection is Not Private window, tap Show Details, and then tap visit this website to view the AirPrint status settings.
-
If the status is Off, tap Turn on AirPrint.
When mobile devices are connected to the wireless network, disable mobile data.
Try printing.
Also, refer to the document HP Printers - A 'No AirPrint Printers Found' Message Displays for additional help.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
