Hi @Peterjlaw

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand the printer is not connected to the network. I'd be happy to assist you.

Is the blue wireless light on the printer blinking or steady?

  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. So, the PC should be on the 2.4GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.

If the printer is not connected to your wireless network, on the printer screen, tap on the wireless icon to check if it is connected.

Check on the PC if the PC is connected to the same network.

To connect the printer on the network, go to Setup > Network > Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.

Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you for your reply, the problem in the end was to change the channel on the router, it's a shame this solution is not on the virtual support or hp support pages as something  to check as after trying all the various suggestions the printer has used so much ink doing test and alignment pages also network and other report pages such a waste of paper and ink and ink is not cheap. You mentioned in your reply that this printer is only compatible with 2.4ghz and not 5ghz so why is there the option to setup up 5ghz connection on the printer setup screen and also while I was having these problems I managed to connect on the WiFi still with the same problems as the 2.4ghz. Anyway the solution was just a simple channel change on the router.

Glad to know the issue is now resolved. It was an issue with the router and hence the wireless channel had to be changed. Once done, you are able to print. If there is any interference on the channel being used, this type of issue occurs.

Changing the channel is an advanced step and hence is not mentioned in HP documents. Changing the channel sometimes may affect other devices connected to the same network.

Keep us posted for any other assistance.
