I found this post

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-Errors-or-Lights-Stuck-Print-Jobs/Connecting-a-8710-to-two-co...

It gave helpful advice for printing from 2 computers to my 8720, but I still have a couple of questions.

I currently have my desktop computer connected by USB to the 8720. Can i keep this connection and set up a wifi connection for the second computer, or do I need to first reinstall the desktop as wifi and then connect the second computer?

The post I linked to above says to connect the second computer via Wireless Direct. The second step of these instructions reads "On the printer control panel, touch the HP wireless direct icon, or navigate to the Network Setup or Wireless Settings menu and touch Wireless Direct, and then turn on the connection." My question is, where is this "Network Setup or Wireless Settings menu." On the computer, in the HP icon, or on the screen of the printer?

Step 7 of the instructions in the above link says "Select your printer model from the list of available printers, and then click Print." Where do I find this list of available printers? In the control panel or elsewhere?

Finally, the page shown in the link above recommends seeing HP Wireless Printers - Printing with HP Wireless Direct. However, that link leads to a 404 error. Is this page still available elsewhere?

Thank you so much!

Notes from the page:

  • Up to five computers and mobile devices can use the same Wi-Fi Direct connection.
  • Wi-Fi Direct can be used while the printer is also connected either to a computer using a USB cable or to a network using a wireless connection.
  • Wi-Fi Direct cannot be used to connect a computer, mobile device, or printer to the Internet.
