Double-sided printing

HP Recommended
HP DeskJet 3630 All-in-One Printer series

I am trying to print through google chrome on an Acer chromebook but the option to print double sided is not available.

My printer (HP DeskJet 3630 All-in-One Printer series) is capable of printing double sided manually and i have used this function previously on another laptop.

Can anyone offer a guide how to restore this feature on a chromebook please?

Thanks.

@jen-18

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Riddle_Decipher is at your service.

As I understand the double-sided printing doesn't work,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Did you ensure your printer supports two-sided printing?

(Click here to verify, I see that it only support manual two-sided printing)

That said, here's what you need to check:

The option to print two-sided appears when you click More settings at the lower left of the print preview screen:

When you click that, you'll see this:

I hope this helps,

Let me know how that pans out

Thank you for your reply.

I expected it would give me that option when I selected to print, however it only gives me the other 2 tick box options (headers & footers and background graphics). There is no where on options to print double-sided. Which it previously gave when using a laptop but no longer is there when using the chromebook.

Is there a reason for this change?

Thank you for responding,

It's great to have you back 😉

Normally, you should be able to set the default options,

And then print according to your preferences, if the issue persists, I'm afraid the only other option is to use another laptop with windows or Mac as there is very limited changes or diagnosis available for the ChromeOS, please check with an alternate operating system and let me know if the two-sided printing options work.

If the information I've provided was helpful,

Good Luck.

No, I can't find a solution for the automatic alternate printing of multipage documents, so this is what I do.

I have found that with multiple page documents my printer, prints only one sheet then waits for the "next sheet" button to be pressed, and then will print the rest of the (single sided) pages.

I stand by the printer, feed one sheet only in the tray, print page one.

  • Take a blank sheet, turn page 1 upside down on top of the blank sheet,
  • feed both into the tray
  • page 2 will print immediately followed by page 3 on the blank page.
  • Take a blank sheet, turn page 3 upside down on top of the blank sheet,
  • and so on, pressing the "next sheet" button every 2 pages.
