Hi, Have a brief chance to buy a NIB G4 tower at a good price but don't want to be trapped without a CPU upgrade path into 9th gen. Has anyone plugged in a 9th gen CPU into their Elitedesk G4 and can confirm it works without a problem? Or has anyone tried this and can definitively report WHY it does not work. The Q370 chipset supports 9th gen intel core cpus (as reported by Intel product brief) but did HP lock these systems to prevent user upgrades (as the G5 looks to be exactly the same spec'd computer and mobo)? HP customer support is no help. Thanks!
