Hi there,

I have a problem with my printer, which has been persisting for a few months now.

Only today I realised what is actually physically making it happen, but I do not know why, or how to stop it.

While printing (usually via wifi from a Win7 laptop, but also from a different laptop running Win10 and also when photocopying), about 50% of the time, the paper will get pulled in and almost instantly skew and get jammed (the right corner will keep on pulling, but the left will not).

Today I opened the front cover while this has happened and realised there is some sort of flap on the left side, which pops up and causes this jam on one side. Iam guessing that the black roller at the front is supposed to roll andflip this white "switch" to makeit go back down, but this does not happen half the time.

I don't know what this flap is, or why it has started happening, or how to make it stop.

Anyone with any ideas?

A warm welcome to HP Support Community!

Most of the paper jam issues can be resolved by power resetting the printer and cleaning the paper feed rollers. Here is how to do it:

1) Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector

2) Remove all of your ink cartridges from the printer and close the door

3) Remove the power cord from the back of the printer (Do no press the power button)

4) Clean the paper feed rollers, refer to step 5 from this document.

5) Plug the power cord back into the printer

6) Wait for the printer to turn on completely, then install the ink cartridges

Let me know how it goes!
