Hi, I've tried searching for an answer to this but nothing is coming up.
I set up my Envy printer in 2017 via my iMac. It's always worked fine. I now have an HP Windows 10 laptop for working from home and for some reason I cannot get it to print colour via the Envy printer. It prints fine, but everything is in black and white. There are no options anywhere for me to change the printing colour, and when I try to access the device via Settings and click on "Printer properties" I get the message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
I'm guessing this is because I set the printer up via my iMac, but I can't find any joy on there, either. If I go into System Preferences and select the printer I can't see any option to change the print output, nor can I via the HP Utility software.
If anyone has any ideas I'd be very grateful...it's getting very tedious indeed having to wait the 15 mins for my iMac to boot up every time I need something printed in colour. Thank you.

Hi @abyzhhj
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the printing issue.
Please try adding the printer using TCP/ IP port -
1.) Select “Start” and type “printers” in the search box.
2.) Choose “Printers & scanners“.
3.) Select “Add a printer or scanner“.
4.) Wait for the “The printer that I want isn’t listed” option to appear, then select it.
5.) Select “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname” , then select “Next“.
6.) Select “TCP/IP Device” in the “Device type” list.
7.) Type the hostname or the IP address of the printer. Select “Next“. To find the IP address of the printer, touch the Wi-Fi icon on the printer's control panel.
8.) Windows should find the printer if the printer is on and configured correctly. You may have to specify more information. If prompted, Select the type of network adapter installed in the printer in the “Device Type” drop-down list. You can also click “Custom” to specify custom settings for the network printer. Select “Next“.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
