HP Instant ink app isn't able to connect to the internet. But printing via wifi works.

I am trying to connect to instant ink to sync the ink status of my printer. The printer status is online and connected to internet. I can successfully print the pages from the printer using HP Smart App. 


However, when I try to get into instant ink page, the printer status says online there as well. But on top, the status tries to connect to printer and ultimately fails with the error - Unable to connect to the printer.
Check your connection and try again later.


I factory reset the printer, set up the wifi, and I am still getting this error.
