Hi Forum,

Im struggling to get my HP Printer to register to allow HP ePrint.

My details are: Firmware CIP1FN1110AR

Connnection type :Wired

When I press the apps icon on my printer's touchscreen I get the message that web services has not been enabled for this printer.

To enable web services I have to make sure that the printer is connected to the internet.

It is because it is in the same subnet as my laptop and Im accessing the internet on this laptop.

I then press continue to check for updates.

The response I get (eventually) is that "No product update is available for this printer"

Please can someone help as I would like to use the eprint service.

Hi @EDDIE_264

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the  "Cannot connect to Webservice" issue.

To assist better- Please print the network configuration page and share the results here

To print the network configuration page from the printer control panel From the Home screen,

touch right arrow, and then select Setup. Touch Reports, and then select Network Configuration Page

Meanwhile, Try the steps below -

Turn on Web Services directly from your printer touchscreen or LCD display.

Example of a touchscreen display

Example of a touchscreen display.

  1. Make sure the printer is connected to a wired (Ethernet) or wireless network with an active Internet connection.

    NOTE:

If you connect your printer to a computer with a USB cable, web-connected printing services do not work.

    • If your printer is connected with a wired (Ethernet) connection, check the cable and the lights on the printer’s Ethernet  port. The green link light should be steady, and the orange activity light should blink when the cable is connected.

    • If your printer is connected with a wireless connection, make sure the wireless feature is on and the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.

Some printers have a wireless icon  and a blue light on the front of the printer. If the printer has a blue light, and the light is on and not blinking, your printer is connected to a wireless network.

  2. On your control panel, press the HP ePrint icon or button.

If your control panel does not have an HP ePrint icon or button, navigate to Web Services Setup, Network Setup, or Wireless Settings to open the Web Services menu.

    • If a Web Services Summary screen or connected status displays, Web Services is already on.

Example of Web Services Summary screen

    • If a prompt to turn on Web Services or setup HP ePrint displays, press Turn On, Enable, or Setup.

Example of clicking Setup to turn on Web Services.

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to turn on Web Services. If you are prompted to update the firmware, press OK.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Jay_G24

I have attached the Network Conbfiguration page as a  picture below.

For info the printer is attached via a wired connection and all else is fine including scan to PC etc

When I attempt to register for eprint I get the following screens:

I then press Apps:

Then press continue

So I press Yes

After a while it returns with this:

I then press ok and the screen changes to this:

Then after a while it returns this screen

Entering a proxy doesnt change anything.

and retrying returns similiar results.

does the printer need a firmware update or am I doing something wrong?

Can you see them now?

Yes, thank you!

Try assigning Manual IP.

--->Touch on the wifi icon ((i)) on the printer, and take down the IP address
--->Open a web browser (ex Chrome or Mozilla) and type in the printer's IP

--->printer's EWS page will open up
--->then go to network ---> general ---> network protocols ---> select IPV4 only-->apply
--->go to wireless ---> wireless 802.11---> select manual ip ---> apply
--->Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.
--->then go to settings on the main ews page --> power management ---> select sleep mode to max 15min

Then try to enable Webservice from the EWS page of the printer.

Let me know how this goes!

Hi Jay_G24,

I did most of what you stated but the EWS isnt exactly as you listed.

I also tried the eprint registration again but I got the same responses to the earlier attempts.

Is there anything else you would suggest to do?

Is there some form of reset to factory defaults?
