Resolve Windows 10 related issues for your HP computers or printers by HP Windows 10 Support Center
My printer is forever saying ‘busy’ when I try to print from my iPhone. I have unplugged everything and plugged back in which works but only for one or two prints then it’s back to ‘busy’
i don’t want to be unplugging each time I want to print something. It can also be very slow receiving a print job

Have you tried using the AirPrint feature? Refer to the document HP printer setup (Apple AirPrint for iPhone, iPad) for help.
Additionally, Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Now, remove and add the HP Smart App on your iOS device and reconfigure the printer.
