OfficeJet Pro 8720
iOS

Version numbers:

  • HP Smart app version 8.2.1
  • iOS version 14.3
  • Printer Firmware WMP1CN2042AR
  • Built Date 2020-10-12

Note: All of the above are the most recent versions.

Printing using the iOS print function works fine.

But when I try to print using HP Smart, I get a message that says "Check the Printer"

When I open the HP Smart app, I see this: "Check the Printer There is a problem with your printer."

If I tap that, it brings up a blue button that says Check Printer Status.

When I tap that button, it switches to my browser, and I see a message from the printer that says "Status Ready"

I can get by with the iOS print function, but there are some useful features in the HP Smart app I like, and I'd like to be able to use it again.

Any suggestions?  (And please don't tell me to update my OS, app, or firmware, as I'm already running the most up-to-date versions of all three!)
