HP printer has already been claimed?

HP Recommended
HP OfficeJet Pro 8710

I'm trying to set up HP eprint using a printer which my parents purchased a couple years ago. They have made limited use of the printer over the years. Apparently the printer has already been claimed and is linked to the account of the person who helped them set it up. They cannot figure out who that was. Is there a way that I can add a printer which has already been claimed to my HP Connected account?  If not, is there a way to figure out who has already claimed it?

Hi @Obi91

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Try re-enabling the Web-Services -

To remove Web Services using the printer control panel

1. From the top of the screen, touch or swipe down the tab to open the Dashboard, touch ( HP ePrint ), and then touch (Web Services Settings).

2. Touch Remove Web Services.

Reboot the devices.

To set up Web Services using the printer control panel

1. From the top of the screen, touch or swipe down the tab to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ).

2. Touch Web Services Setup.

3. Touch Accept to accept the Web Services terms of use and enable Web Services.

4. On the screen that appears, touch OK to allow the printer to automatically check for product updates.

5. If the Printer Update Options screen is displayed, select one of the options.

6. When the printer is connected to the server, the printer prints an information page. Follow the instructions on the information page to finish the setup.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
