My printer will act as if it's going through the printing process but will only show very light ink in certain places, or no ink at all. The ink levels are showing at approx. 65% for both color and black.

Does this happen while copying also?

 

Clean the ink cartridges in Windows.

  1. Load plain paper into the input tray.

  2. Search Windows for your printer model name, and then click the printer name in the list of results.

    HP Printer Assistant opens.

  3. Click Print & Scan, and then click Maintain Your Printer.

    The printer toolbox opens.

  4. On the Device Services tab, click Clean Cartridges.

    A Print Quality Diagnostic page prints.

  5. Examine the Print Quality Diagnostic page.

    • If the print quality is acceptable, click Done. You can stop troubleshooting.

  6. If the print quality is unacceptable, click Second-level Clean to continue the next level of cleaning.

    NOTE: 

    If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform both levels of cleaning again.
