I was given an HP 8710. I was able to print a few pages and then the ink seem to run out. I was using grey scale. I put in in new black ink cartridge, ran a test and no ink printing.  Printing process appears to work appropriately.  No error messsages are on the screen. Just no print showing up.

Hi @NanMM

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

I understand the printer is printing blank pages. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Try making a standalone copy in black and color to check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Check the estimated ink levels in all 4 ink cartridges. Replace any low or empty ink cartridges.

Even if you are trying to print in black and any of the color ink cartridges are empty, you have to replace them to resume printing.

Clean the printhead

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, and then touch the Setup icon .

  2. Swipe up on the display, and then touch Printer Maintenance.

  3. Touch Clean Printhead, and then touch Continue.

  4. If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Clean Again to continue the next level of cleaning. Repeat these steps for the third cleaning stage, if necessary.

NOTE: If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform all three levels of cleaning again.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page

On the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, touch the Setup icon , swipe up on the display, touch Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
