hi @Zhelle
elcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
1. Check Printer Connection
For USB Connection:
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both your printer and computer.
- Try a different USB port on your computer if necessary.
- If you're using a USB hub, try connecting the printer directly to the computer instead.
For Wireless Connection:
- Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. You can print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel to check the network status.
- If the printer is not connected to Wi-Fi, try reconnecting it via the printer’s settings menu or use the HP Smart app to set it up.
2. Restart the Printer and Comput
- Restart the printer: Turn off the printer, wait for 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Restart your computer: This will ensure that any temporary system issues or communication problems with the printer are cleared.
3. Check Printer Status and Print Queue
Check if there are any print jobs stuck in the print queue.
Open the print queue:
- Click the Start button, then go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Find the HP Ink Tank 115 printer in the list of devices, then click on it.
- Click on Open Queue to view any pending print jobs.
4. Set Printer to Default Printer
- Set the HP Ink Tank 115 as the default printer:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Click on the HP Ink Tank 115 printer.
- Select Set as Default.
5. Update Printer Drivers
- Update drivers:
- Go to the HP support website: HP Ink Tank 115 Drivers.
- Enter your printer’s model number and download the latest drivers for your operating system.
- Run the downloaded file to install the latest driver.
- Alternatively, you can also update drivers through Device Manager:
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Printers section and right-click on the HP Ink Tank 115.
- Select Update driver and follow the prompts.
6. Run HP Printer Troubleshooter
HP offers a built-in printer troubleshooter that can automatically detect and fix common printer issues.
- Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and install the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the official HP Support website.
- Open the application and select your printer.
- Click on Fix Printing and let the tool run the troubleshooting steps.
7. Check for Printer Errors (Lights and Display)
- Check ink levels: Make sure the ink tanks are full and properly seated.
- Check for paper jams: Open the printer's paper tray and check for any stuck paper.
- Check for other error messages: The printer's control panel may display additional error codes that can guide you to the cause of the issue.
8. Reset the Printer
- To reset your HP Ink Tank 115:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the Resume button (the button with the triangle inside a circle).
- While holding the Resume button, press and hold the Power button.
- Release the Resume button, but continue holding the Power button for another 10-15 seconds.
- Release the Power button and turn the printer back on.
