Hp smart not connecting to printer

HP Recommended
Hp Envy 5530 all in one
Android 8.0 Oreo and older

Been using this app and printer with no issues but recently moved and now it's not working. Printer is connected to same wifi as my Android..strong connection..but hp smart app will not connect. I've cleared cache, data, uninstalled and reinstalled. I've cleared cache and data from spooler on Android, unplugged printer, restarted, and restarted phone. Nothing is working.

Hi Goldfish0519,

Could you confirm that your android device has version Android 7.0 and above ?

Do you use the latest HP Smart app?

If yes, please follow below steps:

1. Find the printer IP address from Control panel

2. Open a web browser in Android device, enter printer IP address. Printer EWS (embedded web service) page should be loaded.

3. If step 2 is successful, launch HP Smart app, Tap '+' at the top right corner to add a printer.

4. Tap the Search icon, Enter IP address. If printer shows up to the list, tap it to connect.

Please keep me updated if these steps can solve the issue.

Hi ,

Do you mean the Step 3 showed system error?

Could you share the screen capture?

3. If step 2 is successful, launch HP Smart app, Tap '+' at the top right corner to add a printer.'
