HpOffice jet pro 8600 won’t connect wirelessly

I just got a new modem/router from my cable provider and my printer will not link up to it wirelessly.  It tells me that the router has MAC filtering.  My cable provider has told me that the router is open so there should not be any issues on their end.  I have been trying for two weeks to figure it out but no luck.  

please help!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the connectivity issue. 


Please try these steps to restore the network settings to defaults - Touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network. Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then select Yes. A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored.


Reboot the router and the printer. 


To setup the printer on the network, try these steps - 


1. On the printer control panel, touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network.
2. Touch Wireless, touch Wireless Setup Wizard, and then touch OK.
3. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.
