MacBook Pro & HP Officejet Pro 8710 problem solved

If your having a problems with your Mac getting your HP to print. Then do this. You have to go into the print que and look for the printers listed. You HAVE to remember that for whatever reason Mac will always cause your printer to default to fax not printer. In fact it may not show your printer in the list. Your Mac defaults to the fax program, hence you can scan, save or fax but NOT print. The answer? Where you add (+) or delete (-) hit add and type in the "IP address instead" and save. That's all there is to it. When you then scan and print you will NOT see the name of the printer but rather your printers IP address. Hit print and it works!
