My Tablet Updated and will no longer connect to wifi print or accept PW

HP Recommended
HP Officejet 5742

I have a Galaxy Tab A  10.5 that updated and will no longer allow me to print wifi direct. The screen says unavailable.  I went to settings, and  it keeps asking for a PW. I  tried my nternet connection PW,  and  my tablet PW.  It doesn't accept these. I found my printer PW.  It is a numeric PW, but my tablet will not accept a numeric PW where you enter your wifi direct pw. I have already cleared cashes on tablet. I did a soft reset. I reset all connections and easily recoonect to my galaxy phone ( Forgot to mention, I use my phone as a hotspot. I do not have another internet provider).

I am told I'm going to have to do a factory reset on my tablet, but I dont see how that will help as I will still have the PW issue.

Anyway to bypass. reset pw, etc.....  Thank you
