My printer will not connect to network

My printer is not connecting to my modem if tried many times with the WPS

Hi @Mary4433

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand you are trying to connect the printer to the wireless network. I'd be happy to assist you.

  • Do you get any errors while trying to connect?
  • Does the printer detect the network?

Restart the wireless router, the printer, and the PC

  • On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network > Restore network defaults
  • The blue wireless light should be blinking now.
  • On the router, look for a WPS button but do not press it yet.
  • Go to Network on the printer > WPS > Push method
  • Now, press the WPS button on the router for 3 seconds.

Check if the printer is connected. Once the printer is connected, the blue light will become steady.


If the issue persists, we will need a USB cable to connect the printer and the PC and then convert it to wireless.
