Solved!

Network HP 7520 Print Quality different from two different systems

HP Recommended
HP Photosmart 7520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have two Windows 10 systems using a network attached 7520. Print quality from one system is OK, and from the other it looks like the printer is running out of ink. The printer itself has plenty of ink (ran test prints). Have had the printer, work fine, for years. Need an obvious set of steps to correct an error I don't know I made. Thanks.

Welcome to HP support community.

Check the printer settings on your computer.

Try step 5 in this HP document:- Click here

I hope that helps.

I have checked all of the printer profile terms. They're good (same as in Step 5). New observation is that Excel prints colors fine, but Firefox doesn't, but again just on the one system. (Actually found out it also fails to print the colors, like it's out of ink, on my laptop, too.)  Using Firefox seems to be the issue. Explorer does not have the problem either.

Got it. In the print function, either initiated by the print icon or from "File"  "Print Preview", with Firefox, there is a a check box that says "print background colors and images". I don't recall it being present in the past. If that box is not checked, and you have  network attached printer(eg. 7520), you will not get colors, foreground or background.

I guess you can call this a " user error", but to old users it's a Gotcha. Not nice, Mr Mozilla.
