New Envy 7155 won't connect to secured home wifi

HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to set up my new Envy 7155 printer on our home wifi.   For some reason, the printer doesn't recognize our network as being secured, so it bypasses the chance to enter a password, and then it can't connect (because the network needs a password).

We are renting the router from the cable company and so we don't have a way to log on to the website for the router, as far as we know.  And it doesn't have a button for the WPS.

We can't connect via ethernet to my laptop because there is no place to attach an ethernet cord to it.   Is there any kind of workaround?    If the only means is via ethernet, we may be able to use a work laptop (although this would be least preferred method).

Any suggestions are really really appreciated.
