I’m using an iPhone 12 Pro Max running the latest liquid glass update. I use this phone for all my printing needs and lately the option to print in colour is no longer available. Please help thank you.

Hi @MrRedeploy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’re no longer seeing the option to print in colour from your iPhone 12 Pro Max after the latest update. Let’s go through a few steps to get the colour option back.

Check Printer Compatibility
Make sure your printer supports colour printing and is correctly set up for AirPrint or the HP Smart app.
If you’re using AirPrint, confirm that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone.

Verify Printer’s Default Settings
Sometimes the printer’s settings can default to black & white (grayscale).

On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Print Preferences / Quality > Colour and ensure Colour is selected.

Use HP Smart App Instead of AirPrint
If you’re printing directly through AirPrint, try using the HP Smart app.

Open HP Smart → select your printer → go to Print Settings → look for Colour / Black & White and set it to Colour.

Update the HP Smart App
Go to the App Store → HP Smart → Update.
Outdated apps sometimes lose access to certain printer settings.

Re-add the Printer on iPhone
Remove the printer from AirPrint:

Go to Settings > Printers & Scanners (or Printing) and remove the printer.
Then re-add it by tapping Add Printer to refresh its settings.

Reset Printer Network & iPhone Connection
Power off the printer and unplug it for 30 seconds.
Restart your iPhone and reconnect to the printer.
A fresh connection can often restore missing features.

Check for Printer Firmware Updates
On the printer’s display or via HP Smart → Advanced Settings → Printer Updates.
Install any available updates and restart the printer.I hope this helps.
