Officejet 5740e printer

HP Recommended
MacBook Pro
OS X 10.9

I cannot print in color wireless from my MacBook Pro laptop to my 5740e.

Black and white is fine.

Preferences do not even give the option for color.

Please use printer EWS page to check if the color print is disabled.

hi FalconMom,

EWS stands for Embedded Web Server.  You will be able to access the printer EWS if it is connected to the same network as your PC or notebook.  Here are the instructions to connect to EWS.

Open the embedded Web server
You can access the embedded Web server via either the network or Wi-Fi Direct.

To open the embedded Web server via network
NOTE: The printer must be on a network and must have an IP address. The IP address for the
printer can be found by pressing the Wireless icon or by printing a network configuration page.

In a supported Web browser on your computer, type the IP address or hostname that has been assigned to the printer.   For example, if the IP address is 192.168.0.12, type the following address into a Web browser:
http://192.168.0.12.

To open the embedded Web server using Wi-Fi Direct

  1.  From the Home screen, touch (Wireless) and then touch (Settings).
  2.  If the display shows that Wi-Fi Direct is Off, touch Wi-Fi Direct and then switch it on.
  3.  From your wireless computer, turn wireless on, search for and connect to the Wi-Fi Direct name,
for example: DIRECT-**- HP Officejet-5740 (where ** are the unique characters to identify your
printer). Enter the Wi-Fi Direct password when prompted.
  4.  In a supported Web browser on your computer, type the following address: http://192.168.223.1.

I printed my HP Network Configuration Page and it says my WiFi Direct is on.

Everything on my EWS is green?

I don't know?

I just installed the 5740e in my MacBook Pro wireless network and can not get the printer to print. Suggestions?
