I have a Officejet pro 6230 and we cannot get it to stop printing the same page over and over again. It is not a full page it is a partial page that no one in the office recognizes. We have checked the ques on all the computers and have tried turning off the computer and just cannot get it to stop.

Hi @pope23

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing the details. From what you’ve described, the printer is repeatedly outputting a partial page that doesn’t match any known print job, even after clearing the queues and restarting the computers. This usually indicates that a job is stuck at the printer level rather than on the computer.

Let’s go through a structured set of steps to resolve this:

Step 1: Cancel Jobs Directly on the Printer

  • On the printer’s control panel, press the Cancel button (usually marked with an “X”) to stop the current print job.
  • Repeat this until the printer stops attempting to print.

Step 2: Power Reset the Printer

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and reconnect it to the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if it resumes printing the unwanted page.

Step 3: Clear Print Queues on All Connected Devices

  • On each Windows or Mac computer connected to the printer, open the Printers & Scanners (Windows) or System Preferences > Printers & Scanners (Mac).
  • Select the OfficeJet Pro 6230, open the print queue, and ensure all jobs are deleted.
  • Restart each computer after clearing.

Step 4: Remove and Reinstall the Printer Driver

  • On Windows: Go to Printers & Scanners, remove the printer, then reinstall it using the HP App.
  • On Mac: Go to Printers & Scanners, remove the printer, then add it again using the “+” button.

Step 5: Check for Direct Print Jobs

  • If the printer is connected via network, sometimes jobs can be sent directly without appearing in the computer queue.
  • Disconnect the printer from the network (unplug Ethernet or disable Wi-Fi).
  • Run the printer standalone to confirm that no jobs are being held internally.

Step 6: Test with a Fresh Print

  • After reinstalling, send a simple one-page document to confirm normal printing.
  • If the unwanted page no longer appears, the issue is resolved.

Summary: The repeated partial page is likely caused by a stuck job at the printer level. By canceling jobs directly on the printer, performing a power reset, clearing queues on all computers, and reinstalling the printer driver, you should be able to stop the unwanted printing and restore normal operation.
