My HP officejet 6968 will not scan to my phone using the HO SMART app. It used to but will not now. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting steps but in app is says “unavailable.” The printer is successfully connected to the internet though via WiFi and on the same network as my phone

I understand that you are unable to scan using the HP Smart app, I am glad to assist you.
Which OS is installed on the phone in which you are using the HP Smart app?
Meanwhile:-
Update the HP Smart app
If the issue still persists, Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates
